Notes: Another one of those wonderful late night sessions in front of my easel when my creativity seems to be the highest.
The painting represents to hills east of where I live. I have a good friend who is a textile artist who lives near the top of one of these mountains. When I visit her, I begin driving up, driving over cattle crossings, driving around sharp blind curves, and sometimes driving through clouds. The narrow two lane road becomes a one lane road. The trees and vegetation towers over the road as I continue to climb. Even though I’m in my SUV, I’m aware of moving upward and upward. I am in my vehicle, and outside as I continue – both at the same time.
Every time I go to visit her, it is a journey, a special journey that takes me through many welcome unknowns.
